Luxury Sector flourishing in New Zealand
17th March 2017The owner of New Zealand’s only luxury sector marketing and business network says business is booming and she expects it to continue, with significant sector growth projections.
Sofia Ambler has just assumed full ownership of The Luxury Network in New Zealand, dubbed ‘the next generation of marketing for luxury brands’, a world leading luxury affinity marketing group spanning 22 markets globally.
Ambler, who also owns helicopter charter services company Heletranz, says from the growth experienced in both her businesses, she is confident New Zealand’s luxury sector will continue to grow.
“In only two years, my business Heletranz has grown by 50 percent. More and more Kiwis are seeking the high-end experiences we offer such as taking helicopter rides to the airport to beat Auckland’s traffic woes, flying to corporate meetings or exclusive getaway spots—arriving at premium destinations in style.”
According to Ambler, the rise and influence of millennials is a critical factor in shifting consumer patterns and driving changing market demands. Just last October, elite American jewelry brand Tiffany & Co opened its first branch in New Zealand after what it called a period of sustained and heavy website traffic received from Auckland.
She says as major economic, social and cultural contributors, it is important luxury businesses and operators have access to foundational and structural support to meet the changing needs of their growing market.
“The number of wealthy New Zealanders worth more than $50 million grew by nearly 20% in just one year last year. This is massive growth and if you consider its implications in a consumer driven context, you quickly appreciate the evolving dynamics of this industry, especially in New Zealand.”
Amber says the growing body of evidence demonstrates sector demands for a bespoke approach to meet collective marketing, networking and business growth objectives, which she delivers through The Luxury Network.
The Luxury Network is now on its 5th year of operation in New Zealand and offers its members exclusive benefits such as collaborating with renowned international luxury brands on a global scale, access to heard-to-reach clientele and expert business development support to break into previously impenetrable markets.
The New Zealand members include Ferrari, Porsche, Mont Blanc, Pie Funds, Gaggenau, Matisse, CBRE, Designer Rugs, Coast, Akarua Wines, Prestige Lawyers, among many.
“Our member base is growing as luxury brands seek out specialised services for business development and expansion through all aspects of brand development, high-end activation and prestigious networking events.”
